N Korean troops joining Russia’s war: Blinken says Pyongyang’s actions will get ‘firm response’

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with NATO’s Secretary General Mark Rutte in Brussels.
He spoke about cementing support for Ukraine, ahead of Donald Trump’s return as president.
Blinken also discussed the entry of North Korean soldiers into combat against Ukraine and said Pyongyang’s involvement will receive a “firm response.”

The US says most of the 10,000 North Korean soldiers assisting Russia are already operational in the Kursk region.
And on Tuesday, North Korea ratified a landmark defence treaty with Russia.

Domitilla Sagramoso is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of War Studies with King’s College London.
She says the Russian military face many challenges integrating troops from North Korea to the front line.
