At least 75 dead in Ecuador prison riots, dozens injured

0 Riots have broken out at three separate prisons in Ecuador, leaving at least 75 inmates dead. Officials blamed the riots at detention facilities in the cities of Guayaquil, Cuenca and Latacunga on disputes between rival gangs. Hundreds of police are trying to regain control of the prisons , which are home to 70 percent of the country’s inmate population. Italian ambassador among 3 killed in attack on UN convoy in DRC

0 Italy’s ambassador to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), an Italian policeman and their Congolese driver have been killed in an ambush on a World Food Programme convoy in the eastern DRC. Luca Attanasio was on a mission in North Kivu province, an area teeming with armed groups. No police or security forces accompanied them. US flight UA328 lands safely in Denver following engine failure

0 A passenger jet rained debris on the Denver suburbs, narrowly missing a home, after it suffered an engine failure shortly after takeoff on Saturday. The Honolulu-bound United Airlines Flight 328 made an emergency landing at Denver’s international airport when one of the Boeing 777-200 engines experienced trouble and caught fire.
