Dozens dead, millions stranded as floods hit Bangladesh, India

Texas school shooting: 19 children and two adults killed

“It is time to turn this pain into action”. That is the message from US President Joe Biden after 19 young children and two adults were killed in a school shooting in Texas. The assault by a lone teenage gunman is the deadliest at an American school in a decade. The 18-year-old gunman opened fire at Robb Elementary School in the city of Uvalde before he was killed by law enforcement, officials said. Investigators say the suspect was armed with a handgun, an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle and high-capacity magazines. Once again the attack prompted calls for greater gun control across the US.
