Death toll at 35 as Israel strikes hit buildings in Gaza

As Israel’s army continues to bomb the Gaza Strip early on Wednesday, at least 35 Palestinians, including 12 children have died. At least five Israelis have died after Hamas, which rules Gaza, launched multiple rocket attacks from the Palestinian-controlled territory. The rocket fire came after Hamas demanded Israel pull its security forces from the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem. Gaza has not been subject to such intense bombardment since 2014. Clashes in Jerusalem over Ramadan gatherings

There has been a third night of violence near the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem. Israeli security forces fired stun grenades and water cannon at Palestinian protesters. Russia, Iran sign cooperation agreement days after Natanz attack

No timeline as US to move remaining combat troops out of Iraq

Jordan gov’t accuses ex-crown prince of ‘malicious plot’

Jordan prince ‘under house arrest’ amid security crackdown

Investigation under way into Suez Canal blockage

Experts have boarded the container ship Ever Given, which was dislodged on Monday six days after it got stuck in the Suez Canal, seeking to investigate what caused the grounding that shook the global shipping industry. Traffic in Suez Canal resumes after stranded ship refloated

Shipping traffic through Egypt’s Suez Canal has once again resumed, with the Ever Given ship now unstuck. On Monday, tug boats towed the giant container ship to the centre of the canal where it had been jammed for nearly a week. About 15 percent of world shipping traffic passes through the Suez Canal and the blockage had disrupted global supply chains.
