Erdogan urges end to Ukraine tension, offers Turkey’s support

Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has called for the “worrying” developments in eastern Ukraine’s Donbas region to come to an end after meeting his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskiyy in Istanbul on Sunday, adding Turkey was ready to provide any necessary support.
Fighting in eastern Ukraine between government forces and Russian-backed separatists in Donbas has escalated.
President Erdoğan says he hopes the dispute can be solved through dialogue.
As a NATO member, Turkey is in a sensitive position at the moment, as it is likely to support the alliance in any potential crisis between Ukraine and Washington on one side, and Moscow on the other.
