Countries in Latin America, Africa and parts of Southern Asia could regress almost thirty years, saddled with debt levels not seen since the early 1990s, with new failed states, new refugee flows and mass civil uprisings in the Far East and Middle East. We are cursed, as we live in interesting times.

Its hard to extract oil/gas (especially gas) and then store it for a while, you have seen what happened during the pandemic when there was no where to store it. It usually depends on the rate of extraction cause storing it is not an option. If anything, the companies decreased their rates rather than ‘hiding their resources’. But it overall doesnt make sense since the price is soo high right now that anyone not selling is missing out on huge profits. The price of oil is too chaotic that you never want to wait since it could drop (and it will)
