France and its allies in a European force have announced they will begin withdrawing troops from Mali after nearly 10 years fighting an armed unrest.
A statement signed by France and its African and European allies and published on Thursday said that “multiple obstructions” by the ruling military government meant that the conditions were no longer in place to operate in Mali.
The decision applies to both France’s Barkhane force in the Sahel and the Takuba European force that Paris had been trying to forge along with its allies.

Up until 2020 France’s West African “former” colonies had to deposit half of their foreign exchange reserves with the French Treasury, decades after so-called independence. In 2020 a law was ratified in France abolishing the CFA currency under which system that practice occurred. I hope, that in real practical terms, that it no longer exists.

I would just like to tell the Malians and all the countries from which the French forces are withdrawing to prepare to face the worst attacks they have ever known.
France will try by all means to make them pay for this affront, and France will do so at the cost of the lives of hundreds of our peaceful civilian populations (repeated attacks and massacres of populations, excessively publicized in the media to justify that their presence was vital for the stability of the region). Mali and all the countries of the Sahel which was the theater of French operations must know that from now on they will have to face France itself disguised as a Jihadist. The modus operandi of these jihadists will change. Their arsenal will change. because now it is the French themselves who will be responsible for planning jihadist attacks. In Côte d’Ivoire during the rebellion, French forces were in the fighting alongside rebel forces to attack government forces. Several French people were killed and others arrested in the combat zones (especially in the west of the Ivory Coast). The French knowing the Sahelian zone well will inform the armed bands and certain French soldiers (legionnaires because it is there that there are blacks) will direct these armed bands in their macabre work of assassinations of innocent citizens. Believe me Malian people and be sure your guards. because your worst enemy will not be the Jihadists but well-trained and well-informed French soldiers alongside these armed bands to make you swallow the affront that you have opposed to them. Courage to you Malian brothers, to you and to your worthy authorities. the time has come to call all Malian youth under the flag. yes we must call on young people to enlist to be trained in the use of weapons and the art of combat. a man warned is worth two.
