Armed with shovels, buckets and determination, entire families of fortune seekers have travelled from across South Africa to a small village in the country’s east in search of what they believe to be diamonds. It started when a herdsman dug up a huge crystal-like stone in the small village of of KwaHlathi in the province of KwaZulu-Natal. However, geologists have not yet confirmed whether it is a precious diamond.
