Scientists in Mexico have uncovered the biggest collection of ice-age mammoth skeletons ever found in one place. The bones were first found by construction crews working on a new airport at an air force base just outside the Mexican capital. Protesters clashed with police outside Peru’s Congress in the capital Lima to protest the removal of Martin Vizcarra and the swearing-in of Manuel Merino as president earlier on Tuesday. Vizcarra remains popular, despite accusations of corruption that led to his impeachment. Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia have signed an agreement to end six weeks of fierce fighting in Nagorno-Karabakh. Peru’s Congress has voted to remove President Martin Vizcarra from office in an impeachment trial over corruption allegations. He is accused of accepting bribes worth hundreds of thousands of dollars from companies that won public works contracts. The vote came during his second Congressional trial in less than two months but he denies all of the allegations against him.
